Could you be South Africa’s next Ultimate Braai Master?

Published: 28 January 2013

braai masterSponsored by Pick n Pay, the Ultimate Braai Master is SA’s first original reality-based cooking television series, hosted by Bush-Cook Guru and author, Justin Bonello.

Breaking the stereotype of simply braaiing, the first sizzling Season saw 15 two contestant teams travelling over 8000 kilometers to 13 locations across Southern Africa in a 52-day outdoor cooking road show...all whilst competing in a variety of gruelling gourmet challenges. Season two of the popular extreme cuisine cooking competition is now open for entries until 15 February.

Supported by Coca-Cola and Renault Koleos, the competition invites all food lovers who consider themselves to be above average cooks, aged 18 years and older, to put their passion for cooking on an open fire to the test over 60 days in some of South Africa’s most off-the-beaten track locations. Short-listed entrants selected from the online entries will be put through their paces at five regional auditions in Cape Town, Port Elizabeth, Durban, Johannesburg and Bloemfontein in March, where Justin together with “Ultimate Braai Master” judges will select the final 15 teams.

Winner of the 2012 competition, Cape Town-based Tubby Melidonis and his braai buddy, Elaine Ensor-Smith out-manoeuvred and out-cooked their way the title, R500 000 cash, a new Renault Koleos 4x4 (valued at R325 000) and a Cadac BraaiMaxx (valued at R15 000).

This year contestants can look forward to an even bigger adventure with even more prizes!

Aspirant Braai Masters must enter online via www.ultimatebraaimaster.com by no later than Friday, 15 February. Filming will start in May with the Ultimate Braai Master 2013 Series premiering on SABC 3 in Spring 2013.
